The Agony of Grief

January 29, 2017 Series: Joseph, A Man For All Ages

Topic: Joseph, A Man For All Ages Passage: Genesis 37:25–37:35

Nothing is said in Gen. 37 of any complaining by Joseph. We might immediately think that because of his confidence in God he simply sat there, contemplating what God was going to do. But in Gen. 42:21, in the midst of the scene that took place twenty-two years later, the brothers remember Joseph’s begging them not to do it. How does this effect the story of Joseph?

• Who cares?
• Did God grieve for Joseph?
   1. God does care
   2. God comforts in sorrow
   3. God preserves and saves us in His proper time
